Bernice Murray, and Amy Cole
Bernice Murray and Amy Cole received the parking space for the 2010 second quarter Employee Recognition for their exceptional work on the PeopleSoft database upgrade project. Both employees were taken out of their day-to-day duties and placed on this project to provide functional input. The project lasted over 18 months during which period Amy and Bernice learned computer coding, software testing, relating to contractors, liaisoning to the non-project staff, and meeting extremely tight deadlines with efficiency and accuracy. Both of them persevered through a challenging assignment. Our office and the State will benefit from their experience and dedication for many years to come.

Congratulations ladies! You are very deserving of this recognition. You spent countless hours providing group and one-on-one training to the Pension Officers for the fire companies and ladies auxiliary members of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Length-of-Service Award Plan teaching them to use the new online remittance of personnel transactions and electronic billing. You also spent many hours speaking over the telephone to various members of the fire companies, auxiliaries, and officers of the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association as you prepared security clearance to our electronic database and educated those callers about the new process. Further, you attended committee meetings and county meetings to further educate members about the changes. Your dedication to this upgrade both within our office as well as out in the public is truly commendable. You are assets to the administration of the Delaware Public Employees Retirement System and we are grateful for your service!

This valuable person consistently presents a professional image and dedication to Pension Office goals. This committed employee is always a team player who independently works to improve our daily operations.. Positive Attitude:This co-worker displays a positive attitude and willingness to assist others in spite of a heavy work load. This year’s award winner continues to maintain that positive attitude even when faced with a new project, multiple priorities, and an increased work load. This person provides a high level of customer service to co-workers and individuals in other offices. Achieving Success on the Job:This person created a framework for applying multiple difficult transactions where none previously existed, and is a reliable source when others seek help. This fellow worker provided process documentation that is in-depth and meaningful to end users. This co-worker eagerly assisted other sections to implement a new system and continues to find ways to make their job even easier. What previously had been a manual task is now automated to produce more accurate reporting and; thereby reduces the old one-week processing time to one day. The staff time saved is now used to proactively update changes in CRIS files, resulting in fewer time-consuming retroactive adjustments This person is self-motivated to follow-up on a variety of tasks to ensure that the information provided meets the needs of others, and will seek advice from a higher level when the task at hand could adversely impact other units. This person collects and analyzes information that is critical to the effective operation of the Pension Office, and is a link to provide information for OMB, the auditors, our County and Municipal employers, and our bank. |
