IN-PERSON RETIREMENT COUNSELING

In Person Retirement Counseling at the Office of Pensions begins with a review of your Service Record. Then we perform a Benefit Calculation in order to provide you with an estimate of what your monthly pension should be. We review your Pensioner Benefits beginning with Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, your Burial Benefits Insurance, the Blood Bank Membership we fund for you, and the mandatory Direct Deposit of your monthly pension payment.

We also review Credit Union Deductions should you wish to make a payment directly to your Credit Union, and we provide information regarding Income Tax Withholding options. We cover the Work and Earnings Restrictions imposed on you should you decide to return to State employment after you've retired. We conclude with a discussion of Post Retirement Increases as well as Social Security Disability Benefits, should that be relative to your particular situation.

The links below will allow you to view the Employee Counseling Checklist we use during the counseling sessions as well as the Employee Actuarial Information we ask you complete as part of the review of your Service Record.

To schedule an In Person Retirement Counseling session call us at 800-722-7300 or send us an email at pensionoffice@state.de.us.
